Michael Jackson Acquitted of All Charges
By LINDA DEUTSCH, AP Special Correspondent
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A jury acquitted Michael Jackson on Monday of molesting a 13-year-old cancer survivor at his Neverland ranch — exonerating the pop star who insisted he was the victim of mother-and-son con artists and a prosecutor with a vendetta.
Jurors also acquitted Jackson of getting the boy drunk and of conspiring to imprison his accuser and the boy's family at the storybook estate — a total legal victory but one that may do little to improve his bizarre image. Jackson had faced nearly 20 years in prison.
The courtroom was deathly still as the verdicts were read. Jackson, as motionless as he had been throughout the trial, dabbed at his eyes with a tissue. One of his lawyers burst into tears as the first verdicts were announced, and Jackson later stood and was embraced by his chief lawyer, Thomas Mesereau Jr. Some of the women in the jury also wept and passed around a box of tissues.

I'd sure hope after two trials that brought him to the edge of bankruptcy he'd learn a simple lesson: stop inviting young boys into your bed, freak. They'll only turn around and sue him. Geez. Even if innocent, he deserves to go to jail for being stupid. |

If that's the requisite, half the posters on this board would be in the gray-bar hotel. |

First OJ and now MJ.
I think America has finally turned a corner in race relations.

I dunno. I'm glad about the verdict.
To me it's kinda like Tyson. Tyson paid for his crimes, Jacko has gotten away with it - at least, that is what 99% of people will say.
Both have become major victims of their fame - in the past they would have probably drugged themselves to death but now they linger on and make bigger fools ofthemselves - like George Best in the UK. OJ keeps popping his head up here and there - if he were sensible he'd just disappear. |

Well, there's also the quality of your accusers. From what I understand, the people levelling charges against Jackson weren't exactly kingpins of credibility.

I dunno. Jackson doesn't strike me as the kinda person who learns from his mistakes. |

There's nothing illegal about walking into a bank wearing a ski mask, with one hand in a paper sack like you might have a gun in there. But reason dictates you don't. Not many people would cry a tear if the person was hauled off to jail while the cops tried to figure out his game.
Sleeping with little boys after you've twice avoided jail would seem to be a big tip off you should avoid this lifestyle in future. |

I don't know about that. In his mind, he might take the exact opposite view.
EX: I got away with it twice, so I can do it again. |

Hard to believe how many celebs are getting off easily.
I do not believe that that character is innocent. |

If he wasn't Michael Jackson he'd be locked up by now--on the lesser charges if nothing else. On the other hand, if he weren't Michael Jackson those mercenary parents wouldn't have allowed their children to go near him in the first place. |
