Hey Guys,
What do you use to ship important things from home? My parents just got some medication for me that isn't available here in Korea, and are going to ship it over for me. Should they just go with standard mail, or would it be smarter to use one of the others..fedex, DHL, etc.
If you had something important coming, who would you want carrying it?
Thanx

For some odd reason, the fedex/DHL stuff always gets searched. The stuff I've sent by regular post (slow boat) doesn't. I'm sure it varies. |

Ditto what Derrek said.
FedEx\DHL packages almost always get held up and searched by cutsoms, especially if they have a hackwon school address on them.
Probably something to do with all those numbwit Canadians shipping "recreational plants" to themselves.
If you want to send something fast and somewhat secure from the USA, send it by US Postal Priority Mail. |

send a copy of the script or a letter from your doctor explaining the medication. |

I agree with komtengi,
I always use a letter - even when traveling. Something simple in plain English on hospital or clinic letterhead. Preferably with some sort of goofy stamp (they always like that).
Prescriptions themselves are often hard to read and unclear. |

Thanx for the replies.
I like the idea about the letter.
I'm definitely worried about the search. The medicine I'm having shipped is a controlled substance in the states, known as Adderall. Although I use it for legit purposes, it can be abused in the wrong hands. Hopefully, they'll have no idea what it is and let it pass. I have a feeling you could send a bong through Customs here and they would just assume it is a vase.
Thanx again

Most pharmacies in Canada issue a print out with every prescription, detailing the medicines uses, side effects etc, along with the sticker on the bottle that says who prescribed it.-- Surely that would be sufficient to get it through customs? |
