I think it's really great how you guys sit here and complain about the horrible treatment you get in Korea, and as soon as someone shows up you feel is inferior, you start going off on him like it's hunting season. |

Unless this is a case of mistaken identity, DDDStylee is no innocent victim -- he insulted me in a bar once and I was extremely offended. I also went on a wild goose chase looking for one of these "DDD parties" and ended up with red/purple dye all over my face. So I'm already out of patience with this magazine and really hope it lives up to all the hype. Based on the Web site I'm not optimistic, however.
Plus he comes here with this pretentious crap about the supposed quality of his magazine compared to everyone else's, and his own posts are -- as Pollyplummer correctly pointed out -- practically written in gibberish.
I'd be interested in seeing what the print version looks like, and the story about the Green party could be interesting. But I have NOT SEEN this g/d thing anywhere. Sinchon, Itaewon, etc., are big places ... Can you be more specific, DDDStylee? |

A fair point- but when someone makes so many claims about their writing prowess, but the front page of the website features the prominent question:
"How often do you 'perma' in your hair?"
...well.. |

I've read DDD and I think half the writers are on some strange drugs. It is a very weird magazine and it is quite hard to get through reading a single article.
I think I met the guy one time, he seems nice enough but he's a strange lad too. |

My question would be, where is your bilingual website/magazine?
At least the guy is trying. |

Mine doesn't exist, so as an English-speaking reader obviously I'm comparing it to its competitors -- other English-language publications in Korea. If the Korean version is great, then that's wonderful -- but (based on the English version of the Web content) it certainly doesn't seem to be Seoul's answer to the Village Voice, as it was originally held out to be.
And isn't DDDstylee the same person who once disparaged Seoul Classified for putting out an inferior product? Sorry but these are all fair comments. If I ever see the print version and it actually meets the expectations its publisher/editor (?) created, I'll say so. |

Okay buddy somebody anybody.....
*One at a time.... Bugs and I know each other but he made/makes a zine. "DDD" has over 50 people on each issue. It is a magazine. Total volunteer project. I am not anti blog. There is just an obvious difference between the quality of writing on the internet and sometimes- though not enough- the quality in paper.
* I prefer fishing to hunting....
* Red Dog "DDD" is the real deal a small but first rate magazine. The website is not crucial to us because we concentrate on print. The "DDD" website doesn't look like much becasue no one has been able to step up and get it going right for us. BY the WAY what's wrong with the directions on the INVITE TO SATURDAY"S PARTY?
"Posts are gibberish?" Read carefully the return letter to Polly. How the words use her image plus the innuendo of cream. It is Literary... Not quite Joycean but hardly just Gibberish
Swiss james are you kidding "How often do you perma in your hair" Again lyrical language suggesting something a bit funky. THIS IS LITERAL and sexy ... Remember that it is a cyber poll not an economic treatise
KEITH. Jesus Christ man any chance I get "Meet me in the morning... 46th and Wabasha" .
James. Yeah you gotta go both langauges if you really want the heat not to be canned in.
DAN. In the September issue we will have "DDD" pick up points announced; for now WHAT THE BOOK in Itaweon or the Nori bar in shinchon always get huge stacks.
RED DOG you gotta see the new issue Yes we are moving to Village Voice quality. Don't forget the kind of people that can contribute in NYC versus who we have to build something here with. Not slagging just a perspective check.
TAHNKS FOR ALL THESE COMMENTS I SUGGEST FOR YOU ALL TO COME TO THE PARTY SATURDAY AND GET A FREE SANDWHICH AND A FREE "DDD" MAGAZINE...... |

See, it is exactly this kind of thing that doesn't work for me. And some of those "cyber-polls" on the Web site weren't very amusing. But I'll look out for the new issue -- I agree it's good to have something bilingual, and some information about what the Greens are doing. I don't have time to comb the city for it, though. Can you give us a hint on even one establishment in Sinchon that carries it? |

About the party -- there's nothing wrong with your map as far as I can tell. I was referring to one of your previous parties that got cancelled because of rain, about a year ago. What on Earth prevented you from having it someplace else, or at least warning people on the site that it was only on if weather permitted? |
