Back when Ontario had photo radar they clocked a guy doing about 200 kms. The speed limit was 100. I think when you're doing double the posted speed limit, the sky is the limit for a fine. To reporters the police called him "Mr. Deep Pockets".
I think in Finland speeding tickets etc are geared to income. Richer you are, higher your ticket. One of the richest men in Finland got a speedng ticket and the ticket came to something like $5,000.
Bill Gates was notorious for speeding around Seattle. He came very close to losing his license. Not many cops actually wanted to risk giving the richest man on earth a ticket. Most would let him off with a warning. |

Actually the original fine was around $150,000.
A judge later reduced it to $5000. |
