I am leaning towards the "multi-media skills" are important "camp". For the posters here who have strong skills in this area how do you recommend someone goes about learning these skills, and which programs do you use and like? |
Just do it.
Get the program and try to do what you want. If you have a computer guru nearby ask for pointers if not then use google to help you find tutorials for whichever program you are trying to learn. this site has tutorials for every program you can imagine.
Trial and error is the best way to learn anything. Also when you do a tutorial it helps to have a specific project in mind. when you finsih the tutorial do that project or just make something for fun that utilizes what you learned so you don't forget it.
Finally find a message board that provides help for the program that you want to use. It's so easy to get help and pointers from real gurus who hangout on the forums. Hell, you don't even have to ask questions you could just read what others are posting and learn from that. |
