|
|
| I was downloading torrents last night, paused the download and shut off my computer. Now I can't seem to find the torrent files. I've tried searching all over my computer for the torrent file but I can't locate it. All I can find are the folders containing the zip files, videos, etc...Suggestions on how I can resume downloading? Thanks.[/b] |

| That's why Bit Tornado sucks. When I used it, I always would right click on the torrent and save the torrent file in case I needed to restart the download. I think you have to go back to where you originally got the torrent from and click the same link again. It will restart, meaning you don't have to download the whole thing again, but it is a pain. Get a different client. I've been using ABC, though I know many swear by Azureus. |

I like to make a specific folder to house all my ongoing torrent files in.
As the previous poster mentions, it's easiest to just save the torrent file if you don't plan to DL the whole thing at once.
Another thing I like to do is 'window shop' for torrents (usually music). I just scoot around the various torrent sites picking and choosing albums to D/L (maybe 10-20 albums), saving the torrent files in that same single folder. After I'm done picking out the albums I'd like i'll start d'ling them a couple at a time until they're all finished. |

I agree with the "window shopping" approach to browsing torrents. Make sure you name them properly as sometimes the default name gives no clue as to what the file is and it's easy to forget.
If you use a browser like Netscape or Mozilla, the torrents are always saved in a temp folder, but not so IE.
Other clients like Azreus are more user-friendly if you are used to Kazaa, but I still use Tornado because it doesn't freeze your computer when you have 10 torrents downloading, and I think in the torrent world, people find a client they like and stick to it. |
