CNN, in response to getting its collective butt beat by FOX News in the website department, has had to all but admit failure for now offering its video news services free of charge.

We're the winners in this.

As you probably know, CNN has tried for quite some time to sell its news subscription service. FOX News, although less extensive, has been free all along -- and gaining web viewership because of it.

msnbc.com has been free for a long time as well.

Back in the US I see that the Republicans are closing in on PBS.
