Not convincing? These things come right from the mouth of the Shrub himself.......... way back in 1999, according to the article.
Obviously, heԤФ had megalomaniacal tendencies for a long time.

In interviews I conducted last fall, a well-known journalist, biographer and Bush family friend who worked for a time with Bush on a ghostwritten memoir said that an Iraq war was always on Bush's brain.
"He was thinking about invading Iraq in 1999," said author and Houston Chronicle journalist Mickey Herskowitz. "It was on his mind. He said, 'One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief.' And he said, 'My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it.' He went on, 'If I have a chance to invade, if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and I'm going to have a successful presidency.'" |
It was US policy under Clinton to try to get regime change in Iraq.
But you are saying that Bush wanted the Iraq war to gain political capital , that doesn't make sense since before the Iraq war he had 80-90% approval ratings.
The article said he if he had the political capital he would go after Saddam. But interestingly enough before 9-11 US policy was smart sanctions , not invasion.
He could have had most of whatever political agenda he wanted before the Iraq war. |

Any evidence that the US is supporting the MEK, futhermore Iran blamed the bombings on Arab sepreatists . another Iranian newspaper blamed them on Bathists.
The US even sent condolences and condemned the bombings.
Did the US ever condemn the Contras? No.
And even more than that the bombings occured in Eastern Iran and the MEK has no reach that far into Iran.
Do those bombings match the style of other MEK attacks? Futhermore MEK didn't take responsiblity for the attacks, another group did. |

Why's that? If I may be so bold as to ask. |
Just my impression/opinion after quickly reading it once. Answering your question in detail would require a second reading, which I have no intention of doing. Sorry, nothing personal.
That sounds intersting, I definitely plan on look at the link. It's really the logical extension of where the war on terror is headed, isn't it?
One man's terrorist/guerrilla/rebel has always been another's heroic freedom fighter. Is it terrorism to fight against a legitmate government? Who gets to decide which governments are illegitimate? Much easier to fight terrorism when you can pinpoint a group of religious fanatics |

What if - what it - what if. Hoopla la la. Forget what ifs.
And about that tarticle just posted:
I saw thru all the fake rhetoric for war while it was delivered. Many sensible people could, I believe. I don't need any proof that they were all lying. I knew it from the start. It is also obvious how Syria and Iran are being set up for possible future 'scenarios.' Not that it is good or bad, just that I'd prefer a little more honesty about where we are being led. But then, if they were honest, they would not be able to lead us there would they ... |

I've always disagreed with that definition. A rebel or freedom fighter fights against the government and targets military forces and other agents of the government. A terrorist targets civilians. |

I am not "saying" anything. I posted the article and it says what it says.
Herskowitz attributes those quotes to "w" himself back in 1999. Whether they make sense or not, who knows what goes on in Bush's brain.
I have never believed anything that "W" says or does makes a lot of sense, but that's just my view. |

OK but remember smart sanctions were US policy before 9-11 |
