many years ago when I lived in Canada, when I became stressed I would go get a nice relaxing massage and feel much better afterward.

when I came to Korea I wanted to do the same so I have been to many massage places and without exception they all were not relaxing and were painfull!

only once did I have a painless relaxing massage. I went to a place that had 2 barber poles out front and asked for a massage. the lady told me to get undressed and sit in what looked like a dentist's chair then she massaged me and I've got to "hand" it to her, she did a good "job".

however, that's not what I was looking for.

has anyone ever had a good painless back massage?

go to Thailand for a real massage....they are the masters

The "real" massages in Korea are done by blind people. The gov't pays for their training and helps set them up with a job, so I've heard.

The thought of some half-naked, oily blind old man crawling on my back just doesn't appeal to me though.

also, for the hell of it, I tried the double poles on the main strip of Itaewon and it was an "oral" experience for 40 000

he's Korean you know, Oddjob, in the books Flemming says that his boss employed Koreans specifically because they are "Absolutely ruthless".

I've been waiting 3 years to use that bit of trivia.

That is crazy cheep. I have never had either "experience" in any county but I expected it to cost much more. Are the women who massage you from Korea or SE Asia?
