It's a city? I didn't think that it was. It's about 30 minutes from Suwon and lots of companies are there and that's all that I know. |

Pyeontaek is a coastal city about an hour and a half south of Suwon. From Seoul you can take the subay all the way out there now. |

Is it that far away? LG is there but I thought that it wasn't that far. Is it? |

I live there. And like it well enough. It's close enough to yet further enough away from Seoul.
If you live near the central area of PT then you have great means of transport - buses, subway and trains.
Rapid subway (to Seoul Station or Yongsan), mugunghwa train (ditto) and express bus (to Kangnam) all take an hour to get into Seoul.
There are some Filipino and Indonesian workers here due to the factories, so seeing people with faces other than Korean is quite refreshing! So there are a couple of SE Asian fod stores here, too.
Places like Songtan and Anjung are sometimes listed as Pyeongtaek, but are actually quite far away. I took the bus from here to Songtan/Osan Air Base once, and it took 30mins (that was before the subway came).
I've been told the bus from Anjung (where there's the Foreign Language Training Centre) takes at least 30mins to get to downtown Pyeongtaek.
What else do you want to know? |

I live in Pyuengteak, I dont really know much about where to get food (not fond of going to emart) and what to do with myself most of the time. I generally stay home or go to Seoul. I actually live a 2000w cab ride from the train station. Ive never really met any forigners here at all. |

I've never lived in Pyeong Taek, but my friend lived there and I visited a few times. Because it's fairly close to the airforce base, it has quite a few western things such as restaurants and food. It's about an hour from Seoul Station (a little closer to Yongsan). It seems "city" enough to support a good nightlife, but "country" enough that you get to know your neighbors and don't feel the indifference that you can feel in a bigger city. |
