Has a thread on this topic been covered? I couldn't find one.

I'm thinking of posting up all the lessons I've done so far, and if anyone wants the computer stuff I created on the topic they could pm me and I could email it to them. I know this is similar to the ideas cookbook but this would be a lot more focused.

There seems to me to be a growing trend of people moving from the hagwon scene to one of public schools. This allows us greater creativity, but that also can be overwhelming to start with (speaking from experience) and also is hard if you can't come up with creative "things" for one reason or another.

So here are my lessons, to keep the thread at a minimum, I think it'd be best if people edited their posts as they went along.

Lesson 1: Classroom English (rip off of boggles world)

Lesson 2: Quiz on England (fun but quite hard, got lots of talking though)

Lesson 3: Hobbies worksheet on naming hobbies, alas its a hardcopy not electronic. But I can explain what went on. (Very successful, thanks Schwa )

Lesson 4: Music, listening to a CD and naming the music, discussing what they like and an interview (All went well, but interview was hard with so many students)

Lesson 5: Movies, talking about genres, watching trailers and discussing, another successful lesson.

Summer camp 1: Survival game (dumbed down version of a popular team building exercise in england)

Summer camp 2: Superheros (rip off the esl ideas, and links to...)

Summer camp 3: Comics (looking at comics, their style vocab and then creating a dialogue for calvin and hobbes)

Songs: Reach - S Club 7 = Liked by all, hard to start with but still popular
Take on me - A Ha = Liked but FAR to fast for middle schoolers (hey I'm new to this game)

All of them, can be provided free, but I'd like to see someone post up their plans to share with the others as a kind of tit for tat mentality

Sounds like a great idea. The only problem is that some of us still stick to using mostly paper. I'll be starting a high/middle school position soon, however, where making lessons by computer might be the way to go.

Heh or the folks like me who wing it, and make up our lesson plans as we go.

then again I might be happy to type up some of the things I did afterwards.
