i've been parking my scooter in the same place for over a month. i got the OK from the ajumah who runs my building that i could park there.

now some dude has been boxing me in with his car. my apartment parking is set up so that i can't even get my scooter - which i can pretty much carry - out of the place the ajuma said to park it.

i boxed him in, in quasi-retaliation. he moved my bike. that's fine, but i don't have the option of moving his car when i have to leave for work at 7am tomorrow.

what i need is this -

'i get up early for work. please don't block my motorbike'.

i can put my apartuh number and phone number on my bike but i want to compel this dude to do the same with his car.

can someone please help?

I am telling you right now, he does not give a *beep*. You are going to do nothing but waste good ink writing a note. In his mind, that parking spot is his and his alone.

Your only option is to lay nails down and I am serious.

i'm thinking more along the lines of putting his car up on blocks late at night, stacking his tires next to his car and telling him that if he wants his lug nuts back he can agree to not block my bike anymore.

or a fish on his A/C intake. that always makes for years of enjoyable driving.

but i'll err on the side of good manners until this gets intolerable.

i did. she seems to be as ineffective as classroom discipline in an 'elite gangnam hagwon'.

Buy some of those salted fish (10 for 3000 won) and put one on his car each morning or at night.. Better yet stick it up his engine from below.

I had the same problem with my car a few years ago and solved it like this.

My neighbor gave me his key and I gave him mine. Problem solved.

However this obviously only works if your neighbor is nice.

fidel's idea is a good one.

Also this: Check to see if his car is in "park". Many people deliberately leave their cars in neutral so they can be rolled out of the way. Everyone knows parking is at a premium and 'most' people are accomodating.

Oh I dont think that really happened. I have been here for 7 years and that has never once happened to me or anyone I know. You probably just misunderstood him. Here is a clue- you are not in Canada anymore. Things are different here. You have to learn to adapt to the Koreans culture and ways and not be so stuck in the "my homeland is so superior" way of thinking.

FlagWaver,

It is not clear to me what 'that' refers to. Too far from its antecedent I guess.

doesnt he have his cel phone # on a little pillow in his windshield? Most cars have the cel phone somewhere on the dash so you can call them to get them to move it....call him at 6:55 as you are heading out the door to come down and move his car.

His car should be in neutral with with parking brake off. Try pushing it. If that doesn't work, a banana in the tailpipe should.
