You're in a better position to get first-hand opinions and formulate a more informed position than I am. My opinion on this issue would be as based on ignorance as the average American Christian fundamentalist's is on spiritual matters. |

Lest anyone should think that learning a language automatically makes a person like the culture, I should note that a lot of the anti-Japanese sentiment a few decades back came from Koreans who went over to Japan on scholarship during WWII, learned the language, felt discriminated, and came back bitter. |
