The WORST scene in the entire movie is when Sonny beats the crap out of the husband, and you can clearly see they are making no contact whatsoever.

I hated that so much.

One punch clearly doesn't land, but the others are pretty well choreographed. Same thing happens in 'Oldboy,' and probably a million other films.

No way dude. When I first saw it, it looked so fake, I thought they were staging a fight in the movie. Ugh, that scene gets on my nerves so much.

Apart from the missed punch, I've always felt that the fight assumes a level of realism. It's not as kinetic as movie fights sometimes are, but that's what makes it more believable. You can see that Sonny is tired, and the slow progression of the fight (beating is actually more apt) from one side of the street to another is both well-paced and realistic, in my opinion.

It's one of my favorite scenes, partly because how it plays out, but also because we get to see Sonny administer swift justice to Carlo, the scumbag.

You guys should see the sorry azzed fight choreography in the hippy flick "The Legend of Billy Jack." Everything must have been on a first take basis in that steaming pile of dung film.

I got to go with Tiberious Sparkles on this. I love that fight scene, even if all the punches didn't look realistic, everthing else did. I love when he whips that handle at him at the start. Then later in the fight he starts to bite his hand. Too funny. I'd be Santino Corleone and be a happy man I think. Just got to stay away from those toll booths.

Check out on marksfriggin.com about the actor who plays Carlo--apparently he had some real life mob connections and that's how he got the part--although he didn't too too badly as a whiny scumbag, even if he wasn't really an actor.
