I've read some nasty comments about BCM but none of the remarks concerned the Gwang Ju branch. If anyone has some experience or first hand knowledge about this school or living in Gwang Ju I'd appreciate hearing from you.

I did live in Seoul a year but never ventured down to Gwangju.

Cheers!

it was in a down-townish neighborhood- great for stepping out and snagging almost anything (beside a fairly big mall?). The owner was very focussed, the place looked professional, and busy. Can't beat the location. Anyway, I also believe that he was kind of a central-training quarters in the whole hub of the south- respected by other others at very least.

Do you know much about BCM? Depending on whether or not they have fostered the children's part of it all- you could be looking at getting up at 5:30 and going until 11:00 for adults. Doooooooooooo grab the afternoon naps- just doooooooooooo.

The Director there- Lenny Erickson has been serving the head office for 14 years. He's got to be doing something right to stay that long- I don't think he's a drop-out-of-society loser. When I talked with him he had a real desire to help teachers in all the branches. They used to fax all their schools faxes just for the teachers outlining their strong desire to help with any and all complaints. However, the bottom line came down to the fact that in a franchise such as that the final say goes with the owner of the school should you be in trouble.

Hope I helped- ahhhhh the good memories of Burger Queen in Kwang-ju and their enumerous theatres.

There are a few BCM's in KJ. I worked at the downtown one for a year - run by Brian Park. It's a good place, and he's a fair director and a good businessman. If you're going to sign with a hogwan, you could do worse than KJ BCM.

The schedule was grueling, but I had the time of my life for a full year.

If you need any more specifics you can write me at the_king_of_kwangju at yahoo dot co dot kr.

I really thought Kwangju was a nice-sized city, not to big, not too small. They serve pretty decent Mexican food on the ninth floor food court of the Lotte Department Store, right next to the movie theatre, which is also first-class. I met up with some foriegners at the theatre and was pleasantly surprised how they had banded together and made a little posse for hanging out. I also attended a few Kia Tigers games at the baseball stadium and that was fun and really cheap, if you like baseball. You can always bus it an hour down to Wando island and catch a ferry to Jeju for just 17,000 won. There's also a lot of nice new developments in the area near the Kwangju World Cup Stadium.

Um, I once took a look in BCM downtown in Gwang-ju. Everything was well equiped but the classrooms are tiny and would have me climbing the walls in no time just from there size. You are also right in the center of the shopping area so it is somewhat more polluted in reguard to air quality as traffic is very heavy there.
