Pegpig reminded me in another thread of an idea I came up with a few years back. It would be awful in most countries, I think.
Meat shakes.
Like a milk-shake, but also with smoked sausage, beef, lemon-chicken, etc. Yum! |

Damnit-- you beat me to it. A tanning salon here is certainly the saddest thing I can imagine.
This hit me when I was shopping for a Mother's Day gift, and asked my mother what she would like from the pricy and pleasant-smelling "Origins" store. She asked for their self-tanning cream, but when I saw the "Whitening" products, I realized my search was inevitably doomed. |

One thing I just hate about moving is losing things or misplacing them for the next five years!
I used to date this girl who worked in Cosmetics at Shinsegae Department Store because she was ... because I can be pretty shallow at times, but I'm not blind. She'd get all these samples of the stuff they sold, giveaways, brochures, etc. I came across this one little fold-out product ad for something called "Dr. Drula's (yeah ) Skin Whitening Soap -- The answer to the dreams of coloured women around the world who crave lighter skin". Or was it 'skin bleaching cream'? Anyway, something along those lines. The text was in English and Hangul. I wish I could find that ad, because there were some very amazing statements and product endorsements as I recall. The product or the company or "Dr. Drula" himself were German, and the ad was "Printed in Saudi Arabia". Weird. Oh yeah, the photos were damn funny, too. Real 'glamour girl' pics from the 1950s & 60s, yet it was being marketed to Korean women in the 1990s & 2000s. But unlike myself, I think the customers cared nothing about the ad and entirely about the efficacy of good ol' Dr. Drula's skin bleach. I guess for some, you can never be too rich, too white, too young or too happy. |
