I've been a long-time fan of the GTA games, purely cause they allow you to let off some steam in a fun way. I do think some of the missions are overly-violent, but nothing you won't see in most movies or TV programs nowadays.
If the game wasn't that good, it wouldn't fire the dedication that the Mod guys have. They are amazing, the amount of time they have, and the talent....I guess they are trying to showcase their skills to software companies.
My favorite mod was one that replaced every car and billboard with "real-life" counterparts like Porsches and BMW's and ads for MCDonalds and Pepsi. Really cool. |

I guess even "letting off steam" has different implications for everyone.

This is another reason I haven't watched TV in 6 years.

The mod guys are apparently the lowest common denominator in this equation. It was them after all, who found this even lower-brow content.

Wow....wanting coke and mcdonalds ads in your games....cool?! Worse....who would make that? So much for letting off steam....you are gaming in the same world you are living. |

If you've not seen it yet, you can check out some screens here.
The guy who made it has a site here.
I believe the code for the "hot coffee" minigame was always in the game, but the author admits changing the skins of some of the girls to get rid of their clothing.
It's a serious non-issue, really. It's not even titilating or erotic in the slightest. If anything, it's amusing for all of CJ's tough guy talk, and the line the game gives you if you "lose" the game. |
Go to that site, and you read this:
Statement on the Hot Coffee mod
After reading various discussion about this mod around the internet, I would like to make the following statement:
All the contents of this mod was already available on the original disks. Therefor the scriptcode, the models, the animations and the dialogs by the original voice-actors were all created by RockStar. The only thing I had to do to enable the mini-games was toggling a single bit in the main.scm file. (Of course it was not easy to find the correct bit). The Nude models that are used as a bonus in the Quick action version of the mod, were also already present on the original disk.
But all this material is completely inaccesible in an unmodded version of the game. It can therefor not be considered a cheat, easter-egg or hidden feature. But is most probably just leftover material from a gameplay idea that didn't make the final release. I would really like to stress that this material is only accessible after willfully applying the hot coffee mod (or something similar) to the game. |
