I thought Hopkins won the close fight. I take him on a K.O in the rematch.

Didn't see the fight, but it looks like Hopkins would have won easily had he not taken off so many rounds in the beginning. With that said, he still may have won the fight. He should do the rematch then retire, IMO. I don't see another big fight out there for him if wins the rematch. He's not getting any younger, and I don't think he ought to move up. These two fights will have taken too much out of him for those shenanigans.

Astroboy the d/l time was too slow. Besides that bit tornado doesn't work properly on my computer, never has. When I downloaded the Gatti fight I had to reconfigure Real player to make it work. I don't know anything about firewalls or open/closed ports or leeching or seeders. In short, I don't know what the F I'm doing. So be it. Next month I'll be in a place where every big fight is live on free TV. Say what you want about communism, but the Chinese don't bend over for HBO.

Thomas Hearns wins against John Long after five-year layoff from boxing

DETROIT (AP) -- Thomas Hearns scored an eighth-round knockout of John Long on Saturday night in his first fight following a five-year layoff.

Long, a 35-year-old St. Louis native who last fought in June 2004, was game for eight rounds but was unable to answer the bell in the ninth at a half-filled Cobo Arena.

Hearns, a seven-time world champion, was ahead 79-72 on all three judges' cards when the referee ended the cruiserweight fight on the recommendation of Long's corner.

After the decision was announced, the 46-year-old Hearns knelt and prayed in his corner, then said, "This is just a start. I'm planning to fight a long time."
