|
|
1. You get discouraged after spending a year teaching students and they still cant answer the question 'how are you?'
2. Having any and all or your ideas for bettering the English program ignored in favor of the Ani-Talk series.
3. Being treated like a monkey in a petting zoo.
4. having a boss who thinks its acceptable to lie, cheat and steal from you as you should be thankful for them providing you with such an excellent well paying job
5. Getting tired of putting up with the ideosyncrasies of your host country.
6. Homesickness.
7. Its time to get on with your life.
8. Debts paid off.
9. You miss real food(from home)
10. You decide to get into something saner, like school bus driver or biological weapon test subject. |

16. You get sick of the constant xenophobia, homogenous belief system, language barrier, and 'outsider' 'temporary' 'novelty' or 'visitor' stautus (Korea and Asia in general are some of the the worst countires in the world in this reagard, IMO)
17. You realize that there are some things to you that are actually more important in a carreer than maxing out on low hours and paid holidays
18. You realize that there are actually more productive things you could do with your life than teach English to naughty brats with apathetic corrupt bosses (private langauge school system), 900 students a week (public school system), or bored lazy young adults, many of whom have zero interest in English and do appreciate what you have to offer (university system)
19. Becasue there are a many many more disciplines that are far more interesting in the acdemic system than 'conversational English'
20. Because you're not a Canadian |
