I have two more Korean interviews tonight. Wish me luck!

I got two offers tonight:

One in Jeonju.
Another near Seoul. (hagwon)

I'm leaning toward Jeonju. Seems nicer and they don't want me to rush on a plane to get there like the hagwon does.

Now I can breathe...

It's odd how things work out.

One of my 'interviews' (phone) with some Korean folks was a complete shambles. I hung up.

I got another offer via a recruitment agency after an 'interview' with the director of the school. She said "I want to hire you" pretty much immediately after saying hello! It was with a reputable chain, so I accepted. In the end, that fell through because of a few reasons - all of which beyond my control.

I assumed I got this job and it was all done and dusted. But, just for the hell of it, I had an interview with Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (SMOE), a kind of insurance policy to give myself more options. I made no effort whatsoever with this interview and was more than a little complacent - because I'd already got this other job, right? (er, no, as things turned out)
I didn't think the interview went remotely well (I actually felt I was rude to the interviewer) and I got the job, which I begin next month. I half-wrote an email to my recruiter, telling him how rubbish the interview was and how I don't want the job, but for some reason I didn't send it (thank God, in hindsight). The other job, as I say, fell through. A totally barmy set of circumstances. I despaired a bit like StephPoet but it's almost as if fate pointed me in the direction of Seoul and SMOE.

Are you kidding? (OP) I got two or three offers within 24 hours. And I don't have any ESL certification or degree, only one year experience with a different age group in Taiwan several years ago. Have you put your resume on Dave's job center yet? I got three or four recruiters calling me. Each one had at least two jobs to offer, and they seemed to indicate that I just needed a phone interview (as a formality) before being accepted.

Maybe you haven't got your name out there.

Or, maybe you really turned them off in the phone interview somehow. Speak slowly and clearly, don't use slang. Don't, like, use, like, "like", or "ya know?", like ten times in like a sentence, ya know?

Or, maybe they didn't like the photo you e-mailed. Do you have dark skin? Try taking a photo under bright sunlight, wearing a black shirt, and Photoshop it to make yourself look paler.

I have been searching over the net for a good month or two now, still unsuccessfully. All along my plan has been to begin teaching in August, so I guess more jobs are popping up now compared to two months ago.. But still, I've only had a few bites and nothing really solid. Definitely haven't had a real job offer yet. Boo-urns I say! I am going through recruiters.. Despite what so many people on here say, I am finding that about 90% of Korean ESL jobs to be had over the internet are through recruiters. (prove me wrong damnit!)
