Think twice about Daegu if you are the least bit meek. Korean men (and even some of the western men who have been here awhile) are very aggressive and getting harassed as you walk down the street is fairly common.
I would know. Since I've been here, I've been attacked twice and have had numerous run-ins with "the locals". "Why didn't she leave?" you may ask...because I'm stubborn and slightly crazy (I beat the crap out of my first attacker and he called the cops on ME!!!!)

At any rate, if you are a young women considering Korea, please be advised that western women are 2nd class citizens in Daegu.

Yeah, go to Seoul or Daejeon where women are 1st class citizens.

Whatever you do, avoid Busan and Incheon where women are 3rd class citizens.

And don't get me started on Ulsan or Gwangju......

I doubt that Daegu is any worse/better than most of the other cities.

Daegu is the exactly the same as any other Korean city.......

So i gather the Korean experience is a bit of a downer??

i dunno, i think daegu men win the contest for caveman behavior. even my korean girlfriend thinks this.

It's nice to know we can count on an anonymous poster to tell us that the whole of Daegu's male population considers women 2nd class, based on her experiences.
