I am going to be working at an English camp this summer. The theme for their camp is "Vision 2035." They will be discussing where the students see themselves in 30 years. I would love to use a song for a cloze exercise/discussion. Any suggestions for songs I can use that are related to the theme? My mind is drawing a blank. Thanks in advance. |

Here's a song called "I Can Do Anything" that my kids like.
Download from: http://www.econedlink.org/lessons/index.cfm?lesson=EM279&page=teacher
BTW, I'm always looking for good songs for my kindergarteners and would welcome suggestions...

Ok, I've got it: "In the Year 2525" by Zager and Evans...(and if you add any song by Ten Years After it'll add up to 2535 exactly!)
That's my best shot, I think... Sarcastically (maybe prophetically) I'd suggest "Eve of Destruction"by Barry McGuire
In case things get so bad that we have to flee the planet in spaceships how about "2000 Light Years From Home" by the Rolling Stones?
Trying to envision other scenarios in the aftermath of a likely nuclear war, how about "On a Slow Boat to China"?
Vision, eh?... How 'bout "I Can See For Miles" (and Miles) by the Who?
None of the above? - Hmm ... What about the mainstream pop classic, "Somewhere" sung by various artists including the Supremes, Barbara Streisand and the Pet Shop Boys? |

The future's so bright I gotta wear shades - Timbuk 3
It fits the theme. I don't know about the music. |
