Has anyone found a job in SK by posting their resume on this site? If so, how was the experience? Should I expect to get buried in junk mail and crappy offers? Is this a good way to augment my job search? Any advice is welcome. |

have heard where the great jobs are- Dave's is likely the greatest place on the planet for posting your CV for an ESL job. Yes- you will get a flood of email from recruiters and dead-end jobs in other countries. However, it does make one feel good that they are loved. hee hee |

Expect to be flooded with a lot of form letters. You have to do a bit of sifting but there might be some gold in there. I'd advise you to set up a new email account just for this purpose as once some of these people get you on their mailing list, they just keep sending you crap for months.
I think that section of Dave's is mostly used by recruiters and scanned daily by the recruiters who just keep sending out the same form letter that in no way responds to your post. You post "I want a job teaching Kindergarten in Seoul" and you get info about a job teaching adults in Pusan.
Last year when I was job hunting for China, (I know you're talking about Korea here, but I thought this was pretty funny anyway) I posted my resume on a Sunday evening and by Monday morning, I had seven firm offers! Not even give us a copy of your resume or we'd like to talk to you over the phone. They were "We would be pleased if you would accept this position" etc! Talk about desperate for teachers... |

similarly off topic, but funny: in response to my ad stating I want to work in Korea, I have several times received the following email- "We're so glad you want to teach in China! Below are the reasons China is the best country in the world..." not verbatim, but you get the picture. |
