Hi there.
I taught English in Daegu a couple years ago. I had a pretty good experience. At this time I'm seriously considering returning, but to where? Daegu was ok, but really hot, and my trips to Seoul made me think. Good subway system, good shopping, and pretty clean. I'm thinking Seoul for it's size and increased availability of well anything. But where in Seoul is a good place to live/work? I would really appreciate opinions and suggestions. I visited Pusan several times and enjoyed myself there as well.
Thank you for your time and suggestions,

Busan near Haeundae or Nampodong would be nice.
Sounds like you wanna go where expats congregate. Probably Seoul then. |

Live/work in Bundang and travel to Seoul when you need. Bundang is very clean and nice (but boring if you are into nightlife -- travel to Seoul for that). And the weather is a smidge cooler because you don't have all of the hot roads and building sucking up heat, and there's sometimes a breeze.
Be sure you ask around before you start work, because there are a few shady hagwons here, like anywhere. |

I would agree with Derrek, I would choose a suburb of Seoul. But, I would choose a place that is on the subway line. I currently live in Sanbon, which I think is a great place. It's on the subway line, it's a nice mix of a little bit of city life and full of nature. I could live here for a while I think. |

Can be good. You wont make as much money in an absolute sense but much more relative to the people living around you. Shanghai is chaotic and dirty, though... much better nightlife than Seoul |

I live in Beomgye, which isn't far from Sanbon (which is a cool place), and I think it's one of the best kept secrets. It is gorgeous here, and there is a lot to do. The city planners seem to really like fountains that shoot out of the sidewalk. |

Most people seem to prefer the big cities like Seoul, Pusan, Daegu, Daejeon, and Kwangju. There is just more to see and do there. But more important than where you work is who you work for. You could work in a city that may suit you just fine but if your job sucks then you might as well be working in hell. Check out your job prospects first. |

Seoul is a sinner's city, try Busan maybe? Friendlier people, better nightlife, some of the best beaches this side of the equator - good luck! |
