After a month-long visiting odyssey of flying and driving around NA we've finally made it to CoS. Colorado/the Rockies are awesome! We just bought a 5 bedroom home and after living in smaller Asian quarters the last 4 years I'm gobsmacked at how much more living space we'll have, along with (gasp!) a backyard, which faces the Front Range/Cheyenne Mountain/Pikes Peak (14,000ft).
It's taken a little while to get used to the higher elevation after living so much closer to sea level in Korea--headaches and noticeably harder climbing/hiking. Also, I've seen more lightning strikes in the last few weeks than in the last few years. The weather is neat to watch.

Quite surprisingly there's a good market for teaching ESL here and I've already found a job with the public school system. So it is possible to continue a TESL career, at least here.

Looking forward to doing some of that famous Colorado powder skiing/snowboarding this winter!

The house is almost 2,400 sq ft--I've already forgotten what 1 pyong is in sq. m (!) --someone else has to do the math to figure that one out.

The market for homes in CoS is very, very brisk, with most which we looked at by internet these last few months selling within 30 days (or less) of being on the market. The home we bought had only been on the market for 5 days and we figured we'd better get on it if we really liked it--it was perfect for us so we bought it after only 3 days of looking. It was a little stressful having to make a snap, huge decision like that though.

Some friends who are long-term residents tell me there are some 12,000 Canadians working in CoS, many of whom work for NORAD. I drive past the entrance for Cheyenne Mountain often and I don't imagine they get a lot of sunlight in their offices Sad Personally, I'd rather be mowing lawns than sitting inside a huge rock all day!

2,400 sq. feet = 67.44 pyong

Drinking at altitude, just like on the plane... your bill will be smaller because your tolerance is lower. At least until you acclimatize.
