|
|
I reinstalled XP, and before, I just loaded the Korean fonts from the Microsoft site, and all was well. They seem to have revamped their site, and I loaded what I though were the correct fonts, and now some pages load fine, but others load with a bunch of crap characters (in both internet explorer and Firefox). Also, the window titles are always square boxes, and I can't type korean addresses into my address line where i would type www.elscafe.com, for example.
Any ideas what the heck is going on? I've installed every Korean language pack I can find. I've played with different language settings too. |

Sorry, Korean is not on that list of languages, odd as it may seem.
There are some click boxes below, and i clicked Korean and had to reboot. Didn't do anything different, though.
Strange this all worked before. |

When installing windows there's an option to install support for East Asian languages (the same place in the install when it asks for location). If you do it at that time no problem. However, if you didn't do it then you'll need the language pack disk to install it (for reasons unknown). If you don't have that disk, and if you haven't installed too much stuff yet, just reinstall windows and make sure you install support for East Asian languages (and at the same time you can set the non-Unicode language setting). |

Once you are finished installing the support for East Asian countries, 'Korean' will show up. There is a full tutorial on this subject on another site. |
