Pretty painful looking. Confused

I feel sorry for pitbulls- they are victims of their instincts. Now that gene pool really shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.

Hard to feel sorry for a dog that stupid. I mean....those quills are there not from one run at the porcupine, but from a long, drawn-out tussle. Any animal that doesn't get it after the first hundred quills....well....it deserves it.

I showed this one to my husband. His comment:

"There's a difference between perseverance and stupidity."

I feel sorry for the dog and the porcupine, but certainly not for the idiot human who let it happen. Anyway, it looks as if this dog is a bull terrier, not a "pit bull."

Poor guy- I hope he wasn't blinded. Anybody know how he's doing? I used to have a Scottie, and I took her out for a walk late one night. She decided to make friends with a skunk... I was lucky my kitchen was stocked with enough tomato products to give her a bath. Man, my roomate was angry...

Well it's no secret that I know SFA about dogs- how far removed is a bull terrier from a pitbull terrier?

I'm jealous =( I Never even had a porcupine. I had a pineapple once but its not quite the same. They're more delicious. Is a 'Scottie' a porcupine, a pineapple, or a hedgehog? They're all adorable!! I hope the evil dogs get barbecued =) (I'm sure I won't be the first looking forward to the 3rd day of summer.. or rather the 3rd 'dog day' Wink )

Is it rude to drool on a forum hosted in another country? sorry if it is!

The owner of the dog should be doubly cautious. I have it on good authority that when a dog tangles with a porcupine one of two things happen.

#1 it learns its lesson and never does it again.
#2 it gets a hate on for porcupines and will attack them whenever and wherever they find them.

According to the website the dog is recovering at home on a coctail of antibiotics and pain killers. They are just hoping that the porq did not have rabies.

The idiot human who let it happen? Am I missing something? What sane individual would get in between a pitbull and a porcupine. Ay karamba!
