SEOUL (Reuters) - South and North Korea agreed on Thursday to hold soccer matches in the South's capital next month to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of Japan's occupation of the peninsula.
Negotiators from the two sides, divided at the end of the Japanese rule in 1945, agreed to hold a men's match in Seoul on Aug. 14 and a women's match two days later, Pyongyang's official KCNA news agency and Seoul's Yonhap news agency reported |
Do you think there will be any mention of the US role in liberating the peninsual? |

Cool! Just in time for Independence Day vacation! I'm there, including the Korea vs. Japan game in Daegu on Aug. 7th, 8pm.
When will tickets be available for the North Korea match? |

My favorite part of these intra-Korean matches is the media hysteria over the Nork cheerleaders. And the cheerleaders never fail to provide a pathetic insight to the North. The girls tend to become hysterical when it rains because the posters of the Dear Leader are getting wet and start making demands, with tears, that buses stop so they can protect the pictures. |
