Yeah! What was up with that place? About 25 years ago on a family vacation we stopped at one in Bangor, Maine. Same deal - a mess of popcorn everywhere. My dad in his sober straightlaced military style said "We're not eating here" and marched us out the door. I think we went to a McDonald's across the parking lot instead. All was well. |

| YIKES! keithinkorea had a really really long post. Anyhow, now I feel bad talking about all the really overweight Canadian chicks that hang out at RMT. But, may I say, isn't the rule you can't be a b***h or have an attitude unless you're hot. A lot of these larger ladies are realy aggressive. If you're not hot isn't your personality supposed to counteract the ugly? I mean I have seen hot, exotic girls there. In fact, Rocky is where I first saw my first real crush in Korea. She turned out to not be for me, um, or accused me of hassling her, but not the fault of RMT, in fact, she was American. RMT is also where I met the Mormon virgin that I dated all of two weeks. So... hmm, wait maybe it is a bad place to meet chicks after all. I have also seen that guy who takes his shirt off. He looks like the lead singer of Counting Crows, and really needs to work out if he's going to keep doing that. I did hear through a friend that on occasion really hot, slutty Korean English speaking gals show up at RMT. I have yet to see or experience that though. |

Lol ...what sunboy posted got me thinking what stereotypes there are.
Some people are ugly, and stupid, and have rotten personalities!
Some are beautiful, and smart, and nice.
Most may be somewhere in the middle. |

I went there once, seemed OK but a little dull. Too many Canadians slapping each other on the back for being Canucks is what comes to mind, and the floors covered in peanut shells is messy and a bit weird, don't they have bins in Canada? People were friendly and very polite though.
What problem did you have with the place? |
yeah, what the heck IS up with that? shells all over the floor? i'm from Canada, and i NEVER in my lifetime, ever heard or seen anyone doing that back home. NEVER a part of the Canada i know!
is it a custom from the Northwest Territories or Newfoundland or somethin'?  |

| Hey, since we are chatting and such let's talk about the waygook gals here. Not bash them, just talk about them. Have any of you met any really cute, nice, smart funny, etc , ones? I find a lot of really bitter ones about. I know why, b/c back home I was just an average looking guy, and here I am like a model or something. Guys have it easier. When I go into a bar I see waygook girls kinda get in a hyper state. I take it there are not a lot of decent looking guys either. But, again, why are these girls at RMT So big? The guys form Canada aren't so large. |

Hey, as a waygook gal who spent a bit of time looking for a guy here in Korea (ages ago), may I surmise that the reason RMT may attract a larger share of plus-sized Canadian girls is that the gorgeous ones feel comfortable anywhere... Hongdae, Shinchon... maybe they have a bit more confidence to go to various places in Seoul, night clubs, and so on....
Gorgeous white girls are accepted pretty much everywhere. (Take it from me, eh?  ) While they might not easily find the nice Canadian boy many are looking for, they usually can insinuate themselves into any situation they try to.
Big girls may have a harder time just finding a welcoming place where they can drink themselves as stupid as any male canadian hagwon teacher peer, without the hassle or stares. They may be drawn to RMT because they might possibly expect to be treated normally there.
I notice something about white guys who are with Korean women. When I'm working with one, or deal with one in some professional environment, (where they might not immediately know my marital status) some guys seem hypersensitive to my reaction of them being with a Korean woman - as though they expect me to be hurt that they're with a Korean! As though it's some rejection of me!
They noticeably relax when they see the rock on my left hand, or when I mention my happy marriage, but it still bugs me that they feel "sensitive" to this non-issue.
I don't feel that way toward our many single guy friends who come over for dinner and hang out on our roof to drink beer... As though by my being coupled, I'm somehow responsible for their uncoupled state. Pul-ease!
Oh yes, and when white girls are bitter, it's all because of the white boys? Never met a bitter white boy in Korea?
So guys, just go easy on them. They're fat, eh? They go to RMT to most closely approximate an environment where they're accepted. It's their problem that their biggest flaws are visible.... us lucky ones with the less visible flaws should just let 'em have a good time too.

| Wow Simone, you are really "for the sistas." Um, that sounded more like an advertisment for yourself and how attractive you feel you are than a helping hand for the heavy. So, to sum up, they are too ugly to go anywhere else but RMT. Got it. Wow, way to stand up for them. Being overweight is often not the biggest, no pun intended, flaw of the heavy set. Also, slender people's flaws can be just as visible. In fact it doesn't take much to spot vanity, which I think is a huge flaw. After all what is it they say, "None are emptier than those who are full of themselves." |
