It would be nice to see a cartoon of your normal day, I am sure it would go something like this....

Good morning ___________ (insert where you are from) It's a beautiful day and Bush is still president. You still hate everything he does, because he is American and stands for his beliefs. __________(insert new problem here). Man, when are they going to get things right. Ahhhh, I wish my country was interesting, then maybe I wouldn't have to always look in the news of America to find more reasons to hate. Why is my life soooo boring?

I've been lucky enough to visit America on 3 separate occaisons, I'm married to one, & particuarly in my 5+ years in Korea,I've met a fair few.
It seems to me a bit bizarre that some people are so willing to stereotype a huge country, with a huge population with a multicultural tradition.
I'm sure John from Michigan who's heritage is German has the exact same view on life as Cajuns, New York Italians, First generation Americans of Mexican heritage from San Antonio, or immigrants from Korea, Japan or the Dominican Republic.

I don't see the cartoon as commenting on a stereotype. I think it's more about the image that people create about supranormal figures. Sometimes an image is so well crafted that people will only venture to believe so much to the contrary before they go back to the comfortable preconception they've always had. It takes a lot of momentum to change something like that. Who in Germany could believe that Hitler wasn't less than suprahuman? Who could possibly venture to believe that he was a good person now? G.W. Bush has the ultimate image created for him.

Was he sleeping on the job before 9-11? - No, it's just impossible to fathom the mind of a terrorist as evil as OBL.
Was Iraq a mistake? - Maybe, but at least he follows through with what he believes and that's commendable.
Does it matter that both he and the vp skipped out on Vietnam? - No, because he makes decisions with war on his mind now, and he thinks about Iraq *every day*.
Does it matter that he used to use cocaine and drive drunk? - No, because that was in the past and people can change for the better (this one I agree with though).
What about effectively authorizing the use of torture? - That's more Cheney and Rumsfeld's department, and they really know what they're doing.

IOW, there isn't enough momentum to believe that he's anything worse than a regular guy trying his best.
