Well, when you have to equate your feelings with retarded, unoriginal cartoons, that can only mean one thing:

You're smart.

It would be nice to see a cartoon of your normal day, I am sure it would go something like this....

Good morning ___________ (insert where you are from) It's a beautiful day and Bush is still president. You still hate everything he does, because he is American and stands for his beliefs. __________(insert new problem here). Man, when are they going to get things right. Ahhhh, I wish my country was interesting, then maybe I wouldn't have to always look in the news of America to find more reasons to hate. Why is my life soooo boring?

I'm not sure that the cartoon is really criticizing America per se. Apart from the main character, everyone else in the cartoon seems to be against the war, or at least have strong doubts about it.

The point seems to be that Americans are oblivious to reality. That an American can wake up, agree with a simplistic statement on the radio, and fail to acknowledge so much contrary evidence thrust into his face all day long...

While this may certainly describe some Americans that I know (and there are a lot of simplistic, flag-waving Americans in America), it does not account for "America," which is much more complex than this simplistic cartoon. That is, we're not a collection of mindless robotic people, even if the current president is an ideologue...

What saddens me most is that this insipidly lame cartoon alludes to a movie that I thoroughly enjoy.

By the way, isn't there a thread for cartoons?

Nice try. The op's American, from a red state in fact.

Well the only person who thinks the cartoon is refering to Americans in general is the OP. I think the cartoonist is merely criticizing the simplistic ones out there.
