why care about Sudan's VP? Because he was the leader of the rebels in the south who helped create a peace agreement that ended Sudan's civil war. Unfortunately he died in a helicopter crash due to inclimate weather (or so the reports go). Personally i'm a bit suscpious. It would be convienant for him to die. Xtians and non-Muslims are quite upset and think something dirty might have occured.

The report last night was that 24 people died in rioting in Khartoum yesterday because of this.

It's something to keep an eye on.

yeah, the dude who is replacing him is a firm believer of a north and south sudan; not exactly the type of guy you'd want in that position.

The report I heard tonight says 40 died yesterday, with more violence today.

I saw the replacement in a clip yesterday. I couldn't decipher his English but he had a nifty hat.
