Yesterday I went to the Youngin folk village and on my trip through we came across a huge plot of grass/pot/weed/marijuana/maui wowie.

Plants were about 10 feet high, tons of leaves and I was shocked. With Koreas antidrug stance why would they have a patch of marijauna growing in a folk village?

although what you saw was Cannabis Sativa, if you smoked it, it prolly wouldn't do much.

my MIL grows some too. she has like 5 plants in her terrace plot. she thinks they're beautiful and tasty as a muchim (side dish).

One product i know its currently used in is Hanbok ( the expensive stuff ). This is proabably what you saw.

A Korean friend told me that back in the day, when her grandfather was a wee lad, the country people would grow marijuana on the quiet and put it in their pipes instead of tobacco. After all, tobacco cost money.
