|
|
A friend of mine recently told me about the existence of booking clubs and other clubs where it's possible to pick up bored housewives. Now I've never been to any such places so I was just wondering if anyone has experience of such establishments. If so, how were you introduced to them and what was your experience like? I heard that the booking clubs can be very expensive. And do they allow foreigners in? |

Skip the booking clubs and go to 'missy bars'; same principle, less money. Ask a Korean friend for the names of missy bars in your area. |

If you still intend to go to nightclubs, they will not reject you.
Nighclubs are for the young ones in this country, and sometimes reject older people.
Bookings are fun, just remember not to speak English to Korean girls in night clubs. |

booking clubs are expensive and you need to know korean. i think. I've never tried it with english-only speakers. you're much better off in the regular clubs, in my opinion. and yeah, there is a much higher chance that your white face will get rejected right at the door. you can take solace in the fact that they suck.
what are missy bars? like juicy bars? I wouldn't put booking clubs in that same category at all. they are somewhere in between real clubs and juicy bars, but they are much less sleazy than juicy bars.
I went to a booking club twice. both times I bought the cheapest fruit platter they had (around 40,000) so the waiters were pretty stingy about bringing over girls. and of course, do you really wanna hang out with a girl who was dragged by her arm over to your table? what do you say? "hey baby, how about i drag you by your hair back to my cave." the whole time I was thinking, "for 40 grand I could go to 4 real clubs and talk to way more girls." but i stuck around for the delicious canteloupe.
edit-- oh, and one more thing. don't go picking up somebody's wife, alright dude? |

Sorry, I thought 'missy bars' was a well-known phrase. All my Korean friends use it.
A missy bar is a bar that specializes in youngish bored ajummas (ca. 30 years old). They go there to meet and greet like-minded males. They have more than a hand shake in mind. Not looking for a long-term arrangement. Young-Woo is known as the missy bar king of Jinhae. He's never left one alone, he and his friends say. But then he has a beautiful smile. |

Have any of you considered signing up for a Love Bus weekend trip? I'm not sure, but you may need a female partner to sign up with. On the bus partners are swapped. Not sure how. |

How does one identify a missy bar? Will that be on the sign? Are there any particularly good ones?
On another note, has anybody else noticed that Koreans (and also Chinese) tend to go through the "liberated" and "experimental" phase around age 30 that Americans go through in the 20-22 age bracket? I'm 27 but Asia is the only part of the world where I find I mostly date women 4 or 5 years older than me. |

woah, i've never heard of this. so have you gone to one komtengi? sounds like a trip.
As for what a juicy bar is, it's a bar where you basically pay girls to hang out and talk with you, and sometimes do more. The system works like this: you come in and order a drink. a girl sits down with you. you can choose which girl. then she asks if you mind if she orders a drink. the catch is that her drink, usually some cheap juice, will set you back about 20 grand. pretty lame if you ask me. |
