I cant work the tv out function on my laptop. I think because the tv uses a different signal to the computer. Is there a way round this? Has anyone successfully connected a computer from home to a korean tv? My computer screen is too small to watch dvds on comfortably. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers! |

Korean television, like European television is run on PAL if I remember correctly, while North American TV is run on the NTSC standard.
You need one of these doodads: NTSC to PAL converter |

Nope nope, Korea's 100% NTSC. Must be something else (unless your laptop is from a PAL country...) |

NTSC is correct. My guess:
your laptop probably has a custom video out thing that determines whether the video is going out to the LCD, an external monitor, or a TV. If you don't install this utility from you maker, and turn the correct one on, chances are, it won't do anything except show the LCD screen. thus go to the drivers section of your laptop company and download and install the display driver. |

Dan's on the right track. Assuming you can physically connect your laptop to your TV (i.e. you have the proper cable and the tv has the correct connections, all the plugs fit, etc.) and you've been able to switch your TV over to video1 or video2, then the next step would be to go to the desktop of the pc and right click then select properties, settings, advanced- that's where your video card should have some tabs to control such things as 3d and tv out. If nothing is there you're probably missing the drivers and associated applications- if the video card is built-in (pretty much a given on laptops) head to the website of the laptop company. |
