Mr Canuckistan is a die-hard Iron Maiden fan. They were at Coors Amphitheatre in Denver tonight.

Mastodon, Rob Zombie, and Iron Maiden. Much yelling and noise. I've never really understood the appeal of the whole metal thing but it's definetly a testosterone-driven phenomenon.
Apparently this is sacriledge, but I liked Rob Zombie best Cool

First big band I ever saw was Iron Maiden, they're getting a bit old now though aren't they? Reminds me of the old Jethro Tull 'Too old to rock and roll' Wink

When I was a youngster I loved thrash metal, the heavier the better, all that stage diving and other boisterous nonsense! It's young mans game that one.

On my IPOD, Maiden are the number one choice. Sheer Brilliance.
Real metal with it's classical roots spits on your inferior blues based music.

Iron Maiden's been amazing since Brave New World. Go to www.bugs.co.kr , type in 'Paschendale' and have a listen.

No one is asking the important question- how was the hair?

The hair was the requisite heavy metal head-bobbing length, save for the drummer and Mr Dyckenson who had rather conservative cuts.

What made me laugh was the many mid-song dips into a covered tent.....
something that will undoubtedly be happening on the upcoming Stones tour as well...

Did Eddie come out towards the end of the show? Always the IM concert highlight.

Quite honestly, I can't stand Bruce D_ckenson - for me, it will always be Paul Dianno.

Paul my-throat-hurts-and-I-got-in-a-knife-fight-please-go-on-without-me Dianno?
He was pretty good though.

Anyway, guess what tomorrow's featured article on Wikipedia is about.

Say, who's the opener on the tour?
If it's not Wheatus, it should be.

"Teenage Dirtbag"

Her name is Noel
I have a dream about her
She rings my bell
I got gym class in half an hour
Oh how she rocks
In Keds and tube socks
But she doesn't know who I am
And she doesn't give a damn about me

Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Yeah I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Listen to Iron Maiden baby with me

Her boyfriend's a dick
And he brings a gun to school
And he'd sI'mply kick
My ass if he knew the truth
He lives on my block
And he drives an Iroc
But he doesn't know who I am
And he doesn't give a damn about me

Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Yeah I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Listen to Iron Maiden baby with me

Yeeah dirtbag, no she doesn't know what she's missin
Yeeah dirtbag, no she doesn't know what she's missin

Man I feel like mold
It's prom night and I am lonely
Low and behold
She's walking over to me
This must be fake
My lip starts to shake
How does she know who I am
And why does she give a damn about

I've got two tickets to Iron Maiden baby
Come with me Friday, don't say maybe
I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby like you

L'Affaire Ozfest continues: I've been following the Ozfest Iron Maiden escapades; apparently Sharon Osbourne cut their power while backstage during a performance recently because of Bruce Dyckenson's yanging about the tour, and told one audience his waving the Union Jack around during their performances was "disrespectful" of their American audiences (!)
Someone handed out eggs to be thrown at them during the same performance as well.
I think it's clear Iron Maiden won't be particitpating in any more Ozfests.
