|
|
We watched Shark Tale, the Incredibles, Polar Express....now I'm trying to find and download some television shows for the kids to see. What are some recommendations? Shows similar to the movies mentioned? Also, any websites that have them? The shows should be 30-35 minutes long.
Cheers! |

| I would also like to hear some recommendations for TV shows for high school students. I have in mind "The Wonder Years" but don't know if its available. What else might be good? |

Mr. Bean.
Then have them try to explain what is happening in the scene. Good for tenses, verbs, etc..
If they're too dumb for that then atleast they'll get a couple laughs. |

| Thanks for the suggestions. Is there a website for these shows? Where can I download an episode of Mr. Bean? |

| You can always try the Olsen twins films. My old school use to play a video of them once a month for a test. The Mr Bean cartoon was also popular as well. It was on the t.v. in English with Korean subtitles but I don't remember the channel. Some kids channel on cable. |

I've been trying an experiment with my High school students for their summer classes. I downloaded both seasons of the UK version of "The Mole"
The students can relate to it because it's similiar to the korean show "X Man"
Basically with the Mole you have 10 contestants that are working as a team to make the jackpot bigger through a series of tasks. However one of them is "the mole" and is trying to sabotage the team. I don't have the time to go into the explanation of how I use it in class but so far it's worked ok. |

Are you talking about www.the-realworld.de ?
Pay site? Where on earth did you get that idea from?
You do need a PtoP program, but you already have one because you're asking about downloads... right?
If you don't, then stop here first:
http://www.edonkey2000.com/downloads.php
Scroll down to to the basic program which is free.
Then you can download from real world. |

I'm curious as to what exercises you have alongside these tv shows?
I've got nice class sizes atm and am thinking of showing them The Incredibles on friday, but just with K subs as it'll be impossible for them t'otherwise.
Is it just to show them, or are there questions etc.. |

| Have you ever seen Wallace and Gromit? I'm not sure about downloading, but they have a vhs/dvd of I think three different episodes. It's really entertaining, but now that I think about it, it might not be the best suggestion because there isn't too much talking in it- Wallace is the guy and he speaks, but Gromit is his dog and the main entertaining action is seen through him, and obviously he doesn't talk. But I still think it would be very refreshing to show to younger kids who like things like Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, A Shark's Tale, etc. |

| Wallace & Gromit works just as well as Mr. Bean- even though there isn't much dialogue, you get the students to describe what they saw, or make up Q & A worksheets to hand out, etc. |
