Two heterosexual fellows in Canada, invoking their rights under Canada's recently passed same-sex marriage legislation, have announced their intentions to marry. Drinking pals Bill Dalrymple, 56, and Bryan Pinn, 65, intend to marry not because they are gay but for the tax breaks.

Can't say much about the rest of the article, but that's brilliant.

And remember, it's nobody's business who consenting adults decide to marry. Even if it's two straight guys.

That's stupid. The politically correct label of same sex marriage should be changed in the law books to 'homosexual couples' (gay is too ambiguous). I can imagine some poor schmuck being suckered into doing the same thing and then end up forking over half his wealth in divorce.

I'm curious. What would happen if a Korean/Canadian gay couple got married in Canada? Would Korea be forced to recognize the union because of some reciprocal agreements with Canada? Could the Canadian get an F-2 visa for living in Korea? Probably not.

Impossible situation. There are no homosexual Koreans.

Sure, and kimchi cures SARS. Rolling Eyes

I've met a few Koreans that have told me they were gay, and they usually tend to be smart and quite fluent in English.

Kimchi also prevents homosexuality. That's why there are no homosexuals in Korea. Duh. Now, if someone were to stop eating kimchi for an extended period - perhaps on a trip, it is a distinct possibility that they may acquire homosexuality. So, if you're Korean and you're reading this be wary, be very wary.

You think male/female couples always marry for love and not to abuse the system? Let's start with the subject of "green card" marriages... Does being married really confer a tax break? I always thought when you're married your income is treated as one single income. Hence, your mate's salary is added to your own and taxed at a higher marginal rate.

America does not recognize same sex marriages in Canada for the purposes of visa sponsorships etc. So, probably not.

The law of unintended consequences -

After same-sex couples became legally allowed to marry in B.C., a married lesbian couple found out the hard way there was provision for them in the Divorce Act!

The judge did grant the divorce under British Common Law saying it would be unconstititional not to allow the divorce, but it makes one wonder about the geniuses in the legislature - "Let's see.... if gays & lesbians can get married, isn't it inevitable that....."

Does learning English cause homosexuality? Or is being gay a good way to learn English? Wink

Perhaps extensive kissing cures the 'short tongue problem'.

Actually, the same gene that makes Koreans susceptible to fan death also makes them impervious to gayness. The Kimchi is merely further protection, as it creates an "air pocket" around the gay cells and stops them reproducing. The germans call it anuskenfraude.

Hope this helps.
