I've had positive and successful experiences with the Labor Board.

This was a helpful thread. Tomorrow I'm going on a little expedition to find the labor office, pension office and tax office.

i heard some crazy rumor that contracts in English are NOT worth anything in court.....whaddya got to say about that.

I've been at my school (a graciously honest one where i have no contractual complaints...horay) for 2 years...working on my third. Next year i'm hoping to get into a public school (ideally EPIK..).
Generally speaking, are public schools more honest?
Has anyone had major problems with EPIK before?

It depends on the contract. If you signed an English language contract only, then it's a fully valid contract in court. If you signed both a Korean language contract and an English language contract, then look for a clause that says "Governing Language." The governing language clause will tell you which contract is legally binding, whether it's the English language version or the Korean language version. Even then, if there are any significant discrepancies between the two versions, then the English version can be upheld in court.
