Fact is that there are all sorts of left wing publications in the US.
and in Europe it could be said that the majortiy of the media is left wing and anti US.
Fox's view isn't any more extereme then theirs , and if the view expressed on Fox were the same as yours then you would be objecting to it. |

You need to admit that Fox is alone among American television media in the amount of bias it presents on a regular basis while calling itself "fair and balanced." This is what you are studiously avoiding, just as you have yet to provide a single rationale for citing European print sources as somehow relevant to the shaping of American political opinion. |

Sure Fox news is the most tilted television news in the US as I said before,
but it is not only the European print sources I was refering to when I was mentioning European media. |

oops! We're talking about market share.
i don't think there is an argument over whether or not there ARE left wing news sources...we ain't stupid.
the problem is that a) rarely is it a TV show (wonder why that is)...let alone a whole network
and that fox has a much LARGER sphere of influence in the 'murican public |

A huge % of Europe's media is left wing anti US. If there is place for them then there is a place for Fox |

Again what does the European media have to do with what Americans watch on TV? They are not able to view (except those few with satellite dishes) European media so it is a moot point. You keep saying the same things over and over and still don't make sense. |

It is only a moot point if those who have a problem w/ Fox are also have a problem with them or left wing media sources. |

A few of us have already said that the problem we have is that they sell their show as "News" rather than opinion and that they use the forum to tell lies. Not sure what is so hard to understand about that ...
Are there "left" news sources that do anything similar? Sure, but they are generally op-ed writers or bloggers, and there are not the same standards of truth and fairness applied to writers of opinon pieces as is generally felt to be shared by serioius journalism.
Fox News is NOT serious journalism. Of course. yet this is how they sell themselves : " Fair and Balanced."
There is nothing about them that is less true than these 3 words. |

Fox News asserts that it is more objective and factual than other American networks. Its self-promotion includes the phrases "Fair and Balanced" and "We Report, You Decide." However, numerous critics claim that the network has a conservative bias and tailors its news to support the Republican Party. Although most critics do not claim that all Fox News reporting is slanted, most allege that bias at Fox News is systemic, and implemented to target a largely right-wing audience...

Being that a huge segment of the European media is reflexively anti US , I don't think Fox News is such a bad thing.

What IS it with your obsession over European print media and WHY do you think it has any comparable effect on American mainstream political thought that a TV "News" show broadcast nightly into American homes could popssibly have? |
