Well today was the last day of my exrta curicular teaching. I've really enjoyed working with smaller groups (12 instead of 40!) so am gonna miss it.

THEN my students totally blow me away, presenting me with a "thank you cake" from Paris Baguette! And its really good.

I left a job in London which paid the same amount of money (before tax and travel) and where the only reward for sucess was a doubling of my target for the next month. I love the creative aspect of teaching but knowing that I've actually impacted on kids lives for the better AND saving masses of cash makes me think i can put up with as many bigoted Ajjosshis and Ajjumas this country wants to throw at me.

So be thankful ur in a job which challenges you mentally and that you can positively impact on peoples lives.

Now that I'm working at a school and not a business that has students and not customers I can certainly see what you mean. I can't believe how nice the students have been so far. It's like taking the best 5 hogwan students I had and multiplying it by 100.

Yeah yeah my grammar on a web board sucks, I'm afraid i couldn't give a flying *beep*.

Just trying to put perspective on things, so you wither have evilling ajjosshis (another misspelling! Shocked

) or leering ones (depending on ur gender) but at least work is rewarding.

Congrats on having a great day...making a positive impact...and maintaining good contact with your students....and accessing the best part of yourself and students. (GO TO TOWN YOU GRAMMAR NAZIS!!!!)

I love my job...most of my students...and have unequivocal disdain for people who would rather nitpick at someone's grammar rather than giving kudos to someone who loves their job and teaching.

Do not confuse the words affect, effect, and impact, each of which can be used both as a verb and as a noun. Avoid incorrectly using impact as a verb in place of affect or as a noun in place of effect.
Affect as a verb means "to influence."

At any rate the OP seemed more excited about making money and leaving this "bigoted country" than about the students, but whatever. I'm sure he or she's a fine person who's merely a little confused about the proper usages of some words. No big deal. None of us are perfect.
