I'm getting into the whole concept of "theme" lessons in a big way at the moment, and seeing as its the most popular game out there (I'm teaching girls so starcraft don't count! Very Happy) I figure it'd be a fun lesson, customising their perfect Kart (what does it look like, what weapons/features does it have etc. etc.)

My korean is nonexsistent so I'm clueless on the phenominon anyone care to fill me on how the game works (different engines? what powerups can they use? any pics, ideally outlines so they can customise their Karts in any way they like)

Thanks!

This is the website: http://kart.nexon.com/kart/Page/Gnx.aspx?URL=home/index

You need an ID and password to play the game though.

There are different karts with faster engines or special functions, which you can buy either with cybermoney or points you get when you play the game.

It's quite similar to Mario Karts.

If you want, I can send you some screenshots.
Let me know what you'd want them of (karts/the race/characters/???)

I have a feeling if you have them "customize their kart" they'll all choose items that are in the game. There are i don't know maybe ten different carts and ten different riders so you'll get a lot of duplicates. Korean kids have to be prodded before they'll use imagination.

Try framing the lesson as: We're writing a letter to Nexon, suggesting some *new* designs for carts, new designs for riders/characters, and maybe some new designs for courses/tracks. And let's start designing.

RE: the game: you don't carry weapons on the cart as such, but you pick up "items" - you can hold a maximum of three - and use them from time to time. There are rockets, water balloons which freeze enemies for a few seconds, a remote controlled UFO that slows down the lead racer, land mines, banana peels, nitro speed-ups, magnets that pull you to another racer, and so on. But, you don't see them attached to the cart, they are just in the inventory.
