Well, I'm busy this week. And the next. Don't you know though that some things can be spread despite proper condom use (ie herpes)? Condoms can break too, especially the way I *beep*. Since I'm so easy, you should really think twice about your offer. |

Butterfly has made no racist statements.
Consider the following. Tell me if you agree.
1. Women/girls in Africa tend to have babies earlier, and tend to have more babies, than their European counterparts.
2. The relationship between age at first pregnancy and number of children per woman in a given country or region is inversely proportional to women's rights and equality. i.e. In more sexually egalitarian countries, women will get pregnant later and have fewer kids. Where women are devalued, they'll have more kids, and earlier.
3. In parts of Africa and perhaps across Africa as a whole, women have fewer rights and are considered less equal than they are in Europe. Witness genital mutilation and female circumcision.
4. Where women are devalued, promiscuity flourishes. Witness the differential treatment of adultering men and women under Shariah law.
I agree with all these statements I've made. Altho Butterfly's suggestion has yet to be validated, I'd say it is reasonable.
It has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with the CULTURE that is currently in place in Africa. Which is something that could change, unlike a genetic disposition toward lower intelligence. Which is why the following:

is an exceedingly poor comparison.
As an aside, it is my understanding that some men in Africa enjoy what is called a "dry fvck," in which the woman is not wet. The extra resistance is something they get off on. Naturally this leads to tearing and bleeding--which makes it easier for the virus to be passed on.
Look at all the rape that's going on in Darfur. Tell me that's not going to help the spread of AIDS.

Hmm.... well thanks for the dedicated effort anyway.
For the record, I am neither retarded nor racist.
I wanted to find out what people thought about AIDS in general so I asked the most provocative question I could.
The idea is of course absurd, Americans would never tolerate such a thing, whereas Africans in the infected areas can't even control their own borders and cities, much less unite for an international quarantine.
I've read that in some African nations up to 80% of the military is HIV positive, so who would enforce such a quarantine even if they wanted to? The UN? They can't even stop little brush wars very well.
Thanks for helping me learn all ya'll.
Even rachelroo, who didn't have much to say, but certainly provoked the thread into staying up on the list. |

By the way.
Does anyone know...
Does tatooing carry an AIDs risk?
How about all the ritual scarification and such practiced in some parts of the third world. Obviously the systematic rape of enemy soldiers and civilians has an effect in Africa, but is the scarification thing an issue there.
Also, Nigeria recently tried to brainwash it's population against so form of medical care, malaria vaccinations I believe, by telling them it was part of a US plot to infect them all with aids.
Does anyone know the resolution of that situation? |

Well...some might say that, too, is trolling. Not the best way to find out what people "think about AIDS" at any rate.
I'd be opposed to quarantining AIDS victims. It's not necessary. I reckon if everybody plays it smart, we can beat this bug. Anyone can greatly reduce--virtually eliminate--their chances of getting it. |

Sensible, and nicely put. Note also that polygamy is not unheard of in many parts of Africa, and attitudes toward adultery don't always resemble the strict Judeo-Christian/Islamic code. |

Perhaps you are right.
Although look how much fun we all had.
....I hope so anyway.
By the way, what exactly does trolling mean?
I looked in wikipedia, but I get nothing but fishing. I originally thought it was that, trolling for flames, but trolls are people who flame, yes? |
