| Give grades, I certainly do and get great satisfaction FAILING students who deserve it hahahahhahahahahahahahahaaahaaha. However I've heard that I'm an exception rather than the rule. Correct me if I'm wrong but GEPIKERS and EPIKERS don't generally give grades or if they do it's not 100% of the class mark but only a small %. |

I also find that if the Korean teacher teaches grammar, and s/he tells the students it's one thing (ie "most of people") then there's no chance I am going to manage to convince them otherwise. They simply refuse to believe me.
The students seem to think that the K-teacher is the one who KNOWS and I'm just the silly foreigner that the school pays loads of money to for no reason whatsoever. |
Man, I've gotten that attitude a few times from my students. It always shocks me.
Once they insisted I spelled "eight" wrong because I had a "t" on the end.
They correct me when I pronounce "a" as "a" instead of "uh".
They needed to verify with the K teacher that "look" is pronounced like "book" and not "food".
It's fun! I like to explain to them that I'm from an English speaking country, not a Korean. I don't care if their K teacher did go to America for two months. |

Koreans have a great deal of difficulty with articles, because they don't exist as such in Korean. Here's how I would parse this:
Most students like grapes. (Most students, generally, like grapes)
Most of the students like grapes. (Most of a specific set of students, such as the ones I teach / the ones in this school like grapes)
Most of them like grapes. (Most of the group of students we have just been talking about like grapes)
