..and change my hair colour. While I'm at it, slap a little whitening lotion on this cursed brown skin of mine. And say, would you mind popping in a pair of blue contact lenses? No, there's nothing at all dodgy about these requests.

What thread are YOU reading?

Oh, oh, you're so funny. Now I understand why your avatar is a wombat, it's because you're in a state of continual drunkeness. OH LOOK AT ME! I'M FUNNY NOW TOO!

Psst. Get your own punchlines.

That said, hair-colour, eye-colour and skin-shade fall under "dress code". Dress code just doesn't mean shirt you wear, but your entire appearance.

Why are you choosing to attack me for asking why someone stepped up and screamed "RACISM" when there was none? Are there issues between you and Korea you would like to resolve? Personally, I wouldn't take the job if they offered standard pay because of the extra work involved in altering my appearance, but if they offered 3.0 or something then maybe we could start talking.

In conclusion, if you feel you can get a job elsewhere then move on. You had one job interview and they said "we have a very high dress code and the working hours are spread out over six days instead of five". It's not like you flew over and on day 1 of the new job they said "SURPRISE! NEW RULES!".

"some sort of desperate timeline. I'm not really sure what she was talking about. "

Sounds like her.

And yes she is very racist. We don't have strict dress code, just no jeans. We wear sandals, khakis, no ties.

She thinks you have a 'black look' and looking over the resumes she has quite bluntly said that she won't hire people with a 'dark' or what she considers a 'black' look because 'I hate black'.

BTW, Wombat I never posted here much before but the atmosphere on these boards strikes me as very...ummm...catty? Elitist? Whatever you want to call it....

The atmosphere changes incredibly, depending on the poster. Gord is an example of the more - shall we say - irrational spectrum of opinions.

Elitist? No.

Catty? Probably.

"Bich-chee".... is the word you're looking for.

I looked up "irrational" in the dictionary, and no where in its definition did it say "colourful and correct", thus I am forced to conclude you have choosen an incorrect adjective to describe your observations of my postings.

No one ever accused Gord of being insecure.

Hey "Gord"

Or should I say Mr. Kim?

You can shut up now. We all know that you've done a great job learning English. But we don't appreciate your idiotic comments.

Think about what you say. And don't just think about proving that you've mastered the English language.

We don't care.

If you don't think someone being told that their hair and skin are too dark, that they should use "y-lotion" and dye their hair, is racist, then your just as dumb as you are a loser.

Please shut up now Mr. Kim.

If you are shopping around, please read my post...for now, walk into a job letting them know you expect nothing less than 2.6 and start from there. Let them think you already know whats up, none of this, I just got off the boat, BS. If you are attractive that will help too. If the pay is terrible, please get out, forget about it. If you are in Seoul, PM me and I may be able to help you out. where are you from?
