"Pick Up Lines That Work" succeeded in entertaining me and even educating me for a few weeks, but it left me none the wiser when it comes to how women approach men, what they tend to attempt, or how they feel about "picking up" men in general. Dozens of posts from guys, and not a peep from the chickies.

We heard a little about what sort of signals a guy looks for when calculating his advance. I'm interested in the signals that women *try* to send. Why was everyone so quiet? Then I realized that the majority of the women I hear from seem to be married with kids. Is that really the case? What category do you fall under, fellow females?

I wouldn't say that I'm nunnish nor am I swingingly single. Living in Korea has given me the opportunity to simply be by myself. Since I have no interest whatsoever in meeting Korean men and can't really compete with the exotic Asian beauties, my love life has been put on the shelf. Not to say that if I wanted some I couldn't go out and get it, via some randy GI, but I really don't give a shit. I guess in a way it's been good for me, since this is the first time I've REALLY been single in ages. Sort of finding myself without the manly complications.

Based on offers, I ticked 'swingin single', but based on what i get up to, i should have ticked 'nunnish' Very Happy

However, please don't misunderstand the first half of that statement. I'm totally not a 'hot chick'. I think it's just that Korean guys either a) have absolutely no 'requirements' when it comes to bonking buddies or b) think all western chicks are easy lays and ready for it, so they get up the balls to ask.

On average I get at least one serious proposition every month. Sometimes when I'm just sitting on a seat in the subway station, sometimes from my (married Evil or Very Mad ) students, sometimes from taxi drivers. Shocked It doesn't seem to matter whether I tell them I am married, have a boyfriend or am single.

Lets just say my time in Korea hasn't instilled any great belief in the sanctity of marriage.

From my perspective, its incredibly easy to find regular bonking buddies here, if you are so inclined, but not so easy to find someone interested in dating a western woman for who she is (as opposed to what she is: free English tutor, someone who probably lives by herself and therefore no mommy and daddy to answer to and ...)

Don't mean this to sound quite so negative, it certainly has been an entertaining time, just sometimes it gets a little frustrating.

swinging single. I'm allergic to relationships. They are bad for my health.

Seen a number of western chicks have relationships here with locals and expats some of them have ended up getting married. I don't think western women here are desperate and dateless despite the bad press we get here on Dave's.

Theres too much I still want to do to be tied down by a guy....

and what I mean by that is I want to travel a lot, and they may not have the time, means or interests... I want to stay in Korea a lot longer and they may be keen to leave soon.... I want to settle down in NZ eventually and they may not be interested in living there.

But should I meet someone with the same interests and a brain then hey... maybe (but until then im happy as I am!)

"nunnish"?? i guess that's me.
i'm not in korea though.

the mixed girl is just looking to snag her 1st boyfriend.
but the mixed girl is only approached my quasi-homeless/crazy/weird/50yr olds.

as for signals that women send.
i'm a girl and i can't even give you a clear picture of that.
i can almost always tell when a guy is interested in me. the problem is that the things that i do with guys that i take as "nice/polite/friendship" type things, are interpreted by them as "wanna make babies?".

i dunno...if you're with a girl and another girl shows up and girl #1 gets an annoyed look on her face, she *might* be intersted in you...
*might*
