Well, you know, this is nothing new, that many of the posts on here are of kind of an angry or pissed off or complaining nature. A lot of the posts on here are about how we get screwed by bosses in little technicalities and the like in our contracts, our housing sucks, we get stared at a lot, etc. I remember I used to get pissed off a lot back home too, a different kind of pissed off and different reasons of course, but I would have a nice tasty bong hit waiting for me to take my worries away (along with a nice bar of Calgon). It got me to thinking that a lot of people on here were used to smoking pot every day or every so often and now that they don't have it, it makes things that happen to you become even more terrible. Is this true? I think it is.

If you complain about society at home nobody listens. You get into a group and work hard back home, that's it. But here in another country, on Dave's, annoyances take on the grandeur of international commentaries.

Having a release (pot) is a good way to rid the annoyances of the day, why do you think so many ESL'ers drink like fish, hell why do you think Koreans drink.

So many annoyances people experience here are perpetual - you can expect to have to deal with them repeatedly (the stares, the pushy ajummas, the hacking spitting adjoshis, etc., for example)... Dealing with these continuously is what makes it so annoying...

Not having pot to smoke? Perhaps only a chronic going through withdraw would stretch the annoyance to a point where it becomes "terrible"...

I get annoyed sometimes, of course, (for the reasons mentionned first), but I have hardly had any situations I would describe as "terrible"... I hate complaining, but it's hard not to do sometimes...

What I want to know is what you do with a nice bar of Calgon that brings you such peace and serenity.

It was a joke. It's their commercial slogan

The annoyance factor is greater here because we can see the complete lack of any sensibilities, that's what farks me off.
If someone does something stupid back home, we acknowledge and act accordingly, usually with a "good one mate" or "you loser" or worse if it warrents, therefore cementing the persons embarrassment and serving the penalty.
When we see it here, there's nothing we can do about it but stew and wait untill we are with our western friends to talk about it.

I used to hit that shit almost everyday at home. Let's just say that I preferred and trusted it way more than prozac. The first few months of withdrawals here were the hardest, I was moody and temperamental, not to say that I'm not normally, but usually a bong hit takes the edge away and I entirely agree with your point. Anyways, I've had to consciously keep myself from turning into a raging alcoholic, become an avid fan of valium and smoke marlboro lights like they were going out of style.
