Has anyone used these when they were living in other countries? Do they use them here in Korea at all? I'm going to be moving to Thailand in a few months, and I'm curious about them.
The way I understand it is that you can get a SIM card for whatever country you go to (if it uses GSM), and then you can just insert that chip into your phone and it works. They seem like they would be more convenient, especially if someone likes to travel a lot. |

Yes, that's how they work. Nice and efficient. God forbid that something so modular, efficient, and effective ever make headway into the Great Han Empire.
Can't get GSM phones here without doing tumbling backflips through burning hoops.

Got a GSM phone with a Euro tel# in Singapore last year....I use when I'm outside Korea, sometimes while here, but is a little expensive...good to have, though |
