OK, I keep getting this message when I try to open Explorer:
Runtime error program: C:\ProgramFiles\InternetExplorer\iexplore.exe This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the support team for more information.
Any ideas what I can do about this? The Microsoft webpage was useless.
Helpful replies only please. I couldn't care less about your personal opinions about Explorer (yes, I use Mozilla Firefox too). |

I believe that somewhere there is an option to attempt a 'repair' of IE. Try looking in either Control Panel Add/Remove programs and select IE, or Control Panel Internet Options.
You also might trying running scan disk, a reg cleaner like CCleaner, checking the Windows update site for new IE updates, etc.

Q: When does this happen? Is it happening for a particular page, or when IE trys to open a PDF or run Java or Flash? More details might lead to better advice. |

Sorry, I should have been more specific.
I can't even open Explorer. When I click on it, a box pops up with the title "Microsoft Visual C+++ Runtime Library" and the error message above.
I can't find any place to repair IE, and I've already tried using the control panel to uninstall & reinstall the program.
