Drinking tea, eating chocolate chip cookies, listening to hard rock at a reasonable volume, doing work on my computer, and nursing my broken toe; I'm spelling myself by putting together electronic kits and making bids on nearly random ebay items.

Could it get any better?

I am sitting here at my new computer, drinking too much of this expensive good tasting Korean booze my high school's mothers association gave to all the teachers for Chuseok.

Tomorrow I'm going to meet up with some cool female Korean friends of mine and go for a long aimless drive in the countryside.

And I don't have any work for two more days.

Can life get any better than this?

Unfortunately I'm back home in S. Ontario right now but..

I'm sitting here in front of one the two computers I built from Yongsan trips last summer. It's on it's way to 30C, a beautiful breeze, blue sky with big clouds. My garden is producing zucchini the size of baseball bats, cuccumbers, turnip, green beans. I have about 3 baskets of tomatoes ripening on the plant as I speak. I don't need to work at this time because of the money I've made in Korea. My wife wants to however and she's a top saleswoman at a highend furniture company that would like to hire me.

It's only about 1pm here so I'm not ready for a beer yet on such a lovely day. I might cut the lawn later. I just love the smell of fresh cut grass. But...

I'd still rather be wandering Yongsan, a market or just plain wandering in Korea right now.

Life is tough. Very Happy

No. The Sultan of Dubai has nothing on you and your chocolate chip cookies.

Well, I would think that doing the same things but without the broken toe might be considered as being better, slightly...

I'm sitting here, back in Vancouver working at my boring library job on a slow Monday night, plotting my return to Korea. It could definitely get better.

Dude, you can't fool me.

Mustard shit smelly surprises, wailing in the middle of the night, barfing on shirts, and no travelling of consequence for the first few years.

No concept of money other than 'give me', no concept of parents as free-willed beings but rather as attention givers NOW, me me me, for the next 10 or so years.

"Is that 'boyfriend' fucker feeling up my daughter right now?", "it's after 10 and I hope like hell that she isn't getting fertilized", "I stopped fucking smoking so that she wouldn't start, and now that dumbass has started anyway and is well on the road to really yellow teeth and lung cancer" until she gets married and/or has her own kids.

Then finally you get 'not even a fucking call at Christmas after giving up 90% of my disposible income and time over the last 20 years.'

As for me, I'm making some tea right now and going to mow down on some more cookies and that's what makes everything perfect (well, that and my computer).

Aaah, Beav... Sad

Y'know, this is one of the longest posts I've seen you write in quite awhile, which leads me to believe you're not only trying to convince Dave's readers, but yourself as well.

SuperHero and I know the REAL Beav, and he's just a cuddly, fatherly, furry little creature full of nurturing love! Razz

And just for the record, all those things you've just mentioned (and then some) are waaaaaay worth it for just one measly little smile from my little one!

Nothing better in the world!

People still wash by hand? That's so quaint, I love it!

I took two keyboards out of the dishwasher this morning and I'm typing on one of them now. Clean as a whistle, it's like silky driving!

Oh yeah, and we're getting new Duobacks for the whole office this week -- Duoback, baby! Cool

Oh no, you haven't got an oven, Corporal? I always feel bad when I hear posters who don't have ovens wishing they did. Sad But you've got a microwave, haven't you? I hope...

*EDIT* --- Wait, didn't you say somewhere that you don't like to cook? So you don't have an oven because you don't want one?

That dishwasher, don't be envious at all. I pulled it out of a unit I was letting. It's three years old, used & abused by three groups of strangers. And it's now got a small dent in the door where I kicked it when installing it in my kitchen, because it refused to slip in snug beneath the countertop despite my getting the dimensions perfect. It still works okay, but other than washing old computer keyboards, I really only use it to store plates. I wash everything by hand.
